But to book any place you find using Tesla Destination Charging Map or PlugShare, you'll need to use one of the booking sites.

I recommend using Booking.com, as they have a user-friendly interface and offer a variety of hotels to choose from. If you also want to see prices from all the major booking sites, I recommend using an aggregator like HotelsCombined. Kayak is also great.

HotelsCombined is an online hotel search engine that allows you to compare prices from multiple booking sites at once. HotelsCombined is part of Booking Holding Inc which also owns popular booking sites like Booking.com, Priceline, Agoda, RentalCars and Kayak.

The best thing about HotelsCombined is that it includes an option to filter your search results by amenities. To find hotels with EV chargers on HotelsCombined:

1. Enter your destination and dates into the search engine. Click Search.
2. Then, select “EV Charging” under the “Amenities” filter.

This will narrow down your search results to only hotels that have EV charging stations. You can also use the “Price” and “Star Rating” filters to find a hotel that fits your budget and preferences.

To find hotels with EV chargers on Kayak:

1. Go to the Kayak website. Click Stays and enter your travel details into the search bar.
2. In the filter pane on the left, select EV charging station from the list of options under “Amenities.”

Kayak also lists hotels, inns, apartments and private rentals that practice sustainability to reduce their environmental impact. Look for the leaf icon next to the listing with the “Travel Sustainable” label to find these accommodations.

4. Expedia

Expedia is an online travel agency where you can find deals on flights, hotels, rental cars and vacation packages. It's owned by Expedia Group, the same company that owns popular booking sites like Travelocity and Hotels.com.

Expedia has a similar setup to narrow down your options to only hotels with electric car charging points. Here’s how you can use Expedia to find a hotel for your next EV road trip.

• Enter your destination in Going to along with your Check-in and Check-out dates. Click Search

1. Go to the Momondo website and enter your travel destination, dates, and the number of travellers.
2. In the left sidebar, scroll down to the “Amenities” section in the filters area on the left and select “EV charging station” from the list of options.

9. Hilton

If you’re after only the Hilton hotels with EV charging, you can book yourself a place using the Hilton site directly. Apart from the Hilton brand, you’ll be able to book places to stay at other Hilton brands like DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hampton, Canopy and Conrad to name a few.

To find all the Hilton sites that offer EV charging stations, follow the below steps:

1. Go to the Hilton website
2. Provide your destination details, check-in/check-out details and room requirements. Click Find a Hotel.
3. On the next screen, you’ll see all the options from the Hilton brand. To narrow down this list to show only the EV charging options, click on Filters. On the popup shown, scroll down to Guest Services. Select EV Charging.

10. Tesla Destination Charging

If you drive a Tesla EV, one of the best road trip planning resources at your disposal is Tesla Destination Charging. It is a network of hotels, restaurants, shopping centres, resorts, and parking garages that offer EV chargers for Tesla owners.

You can find all the locations offering Tesla Destination Charging from your car touchscreen or the Tesla website.

Follow these steps to find destination charging points from the Tesla touchscreen,

1. Go to the Tesla in-car navigation search bar.
2. Click charging and then tap the icon with one lightning bolt to include the destination chargers

You can also use the Tesla website to check all the available destination chargers for your trip. To find your available options, go to https://www.tesla.com/en_gb/findus and enter your location.

11. PlugShare

Click on the burger menu next to the search bar to bring up the filter criteria. Scroll down to Temporary Filters and select “Hotel/Lodging”

You can also select charging locations by Grocery, Shopping, Park, Restroom etc.
